Meet the Team
Founder & CEO
As the sole owner and senior consultant at Arlyn Recruiting, Stephen brings twenty-five years of people management and sixteen years in legal recruitment. He focuses his expertise on career coaching, training, personal development, recruitment, and client relationships. Stephen has a formal education in Business Administration and Management and a strong Human Resources background. When he is not driving his wife and two daughters crazy, he is involved within his community as a board member and past president of the Deep Cove Rowing Club. During the past fifteen years Stephen has continued to present at Capilano University and Vancouver Community College for both the Paralegal and Legal Administration Assistant programs, and, he remains an active member of the Capilano University Paralegal Advisory Committee.
Senior HR Advisor
With over 15 years’ experience in recruitment and people management, Jean draws on a background in both public and private sectors including human resources and labour relations. In addition to overseeing the temp division, Jean also works in permanent placements and career coaching. Outside of the office, Jean is passionate about fitness, acting as a volunteer fitness instructor at the YWCA, as well as a talented artist with work displayed in shows and west side Vancouver coffee shops. Whether it be at a local café or on the beaches of Hawaii, Jean finds the beauty in any situation.
Senior HR Advisor/Career Coach
Diane has been employed with Arlyn Recruiting since 2004. Prior to joining Arlyn, Diane worked 20+ years in law firms, beginning her career as a Legal Administrative Assistant. She holds her CPHR designation, is a graduate of the HR Diploma program at BCIT, and has an undergraduate in Psychology and Sociology from SFU. Diane is a Certified Coach through SFU and is currently completing a Masters in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. In addition to recruiting, Diane works as an HR consultant and collaborates with Office Administrators to find solutions for HR concerns. Firms also seek out Diane’s assistance to transition individuals from the firm’s employment to another environment, or to attain leadership or peak performance skills. Julie van Leeuwen
Julie joined the team in early January 2017 as an HR assistant, and provides support to both the recruitment team and the candidates. She completed her BA with a Major in Communications in June 2015 at Simon Fraser University. Julie is anticipating continuing her education in Human Resources with the goal of obtaining CPHR designation in the near future. In her free time, you can find Julie on the soccer pitch, a baseball diamond, or hiking in the North Shore mountains.
