Today, on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we at Arlyn Recruiting stand in solidarity with Indigenous Peoples, honoring the survivors, families, and communities profoundly affected by the devastating legacy of residential schools. This day serves as a national reminder of the children who never returned home, the families who were torn apart, and the ongoing impact on Indigenous cultures and communities across Canada.
A powerful symbol of this remembrance is The Survivors’ Flag, created in partnership with survivors, the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation, and National Indigenous Organizations. The flag tells the story of those who were lost and those who survived, honoring the resilience of Indigenous Peoples and their enduring strength. Each element of the flag reflects the values, traditions, and sacred memories of Indigenous communities. It sends a clear message to all Canadians: the trauma of residential schools must never be forgotten, and the work of reconciliation must continue.
