It’s hard to believe that two years have passed since I officially stepped into the role of Principal & Director at Arlyn Recruiting. It was very challenging at first—because meaningful work usually is—but incredibly rewarding overall with the all the people and organizations we have helped. Above all, it’s been rewarding because of the people: our team, the candidates we support, and the clients we partner with every day.
Before formally joining Arlyn, I reached out to friends and colleagues across the BC legal community with a simple question: “Have you heard of Arlyn Recruiting?”
The response stayed with me. Faces lit up. The answer was always, “Of course.” People consistently shared how much they had enjoyed working with Stephen Danvers, Jean Chose, Brynne Danvers, and many others who have been part of Arlyn over the past 35 years.
That was when I truly understood the depth of Arlyn’s reputation. Operating since 1991, the firm has been built on trust, long‑standing relationships, and consistency—and that history spoke volumes to me.
Over the past few years, Stephen Danvers has gradually stepped back while generously mentoring me through the transition. With the support and guidance of Stephen and, of course, the incredible mentorship of Jean Chose, we ensured continuity while building a new team. With Kayleigh Hansen joining us last year as our Operations and Recruiting Manager, this really helped shape the firm’s next chapter—always grounded in the strong relationships that already existed.
Today, I’m proud to work alongside our exceptional team supporting law firms and legal professionals across Canada. My role blends strategic leadership with hands‑on recruiting, allowing me to stay closely connected to both clients and candidates while navigating an evolving legal talent landscape.
The needs of the law firms and corporation we support are nuanced and continually changing, shaped by broader shifts within the profession, and I remain deeply engaged in understanding where the industry is heading and how we can best support the remarkable women and men who make up the legal community.
I’m also deeply thankful to the BC Legal Management Association (BCLMA) for their networking events, Capilano University, Karen Roussey LAA and Paralegal programs, and our many partner law firms across Vancouver. Your collaboration, trust, and ongoing support have played an important role in both my journey and Arlyn’s continued success.
As I mark my two‑year anniversary, Arlyn Recruiting is also celebrating 35 years in business. There aren’t many firms in Vancouver that have sustained this kind of longevity while continuing to build momentum, embrace new technology, and strengthen relationships year after year.
I’m grateful for the past, energized by the present, and excited for what’s ahead. Here’s to the next chapter, with more exciting news around the corner.
